Description
Jelonet is a sterile open weave gauze dressing impregnated with white soft paraffin. It is used as a primary wound contact layer as the paraffin reduces the adherence of the dressing to the wound. The wound drains freely through the paraffin dressing into an absorbent secondary dressing.
The gauze has interlocking threads which minimise fraying when the dressing is cut to shape.
Since it is a non - medicated primary dressing it can be used with a topical antiseptic or antibiotic of choice.
