Wooden Tongue Depressors are used by doctors and other medical personnel to press the tongue down during throat and oral examination.

Some people also use a tongue depressor as an applicator having flat wooden spatula for applying thick lotions or gels or even as a finger splint in first aid where a proper finger splint isn't available.  

Both ends are smooth and rounded for patient safety.

Made of birchwood, having high tensile strength.
